August - I will be appearing as "Ruth" in Also Known As Theatre's debut production, the world premiere of A Good Death by Canadian playwright Shelley M. Hobbs. This play deals with a life hanging in the balance, bio vs. chosen family, science vs. faith, and LGBTQA+ identity. Performances run August 16th - September 2nd at the Calderwood Pavilion at the Boston Center for the Arts August 16th - September 2nd. Tickets are available here. I am so excited to share both this show and this new company's work with you. We're creating some beautiful indie theatre here in Boston. - I will also be working as a Teaching Artist for the American Repertory Theater's Kids Company Summer Jamboree. I will be teaching improvised play with younger campers and devising a show with our older campers.
May - I will be directing a production of The Tempest at the Jewish Community Day School of Boston, working with sixth graders to make Shakespeare's poetic retirement letter come to life. Yes, there will be sea shantys.
March - I will once again be co-leading classes in improvised play with the junior students in American Repertory Theatre's Kids Company classes.
January - I will be appearing as a performer in Series A of Boston's One Minute Play Festival. In a great bit of news, I will be directed by colleague and AKA co-founder Kelly Smith! The 1MPF is exactly what it sounds like - a series of 60-80 plays that each run for one minute or less. It is a nomadic festival, running annually in over 20 cities across the country including New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, Atlanta, Philadelphia, DC, Seattle, Austin, Honolulu, and more. More information about the Festival and its goals can be found here. We will be performing at the Boston Playwrights Theatre on January 6th and 7th. Doors open at 7:30, show begins at 8:00. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased at the door. Hope to see you there!
